6Q: Ray Rice

Six Questions with:

Ray Rice – All-Pro NFL Running Back

Ray Rice, running back for the Baltimore Ravens, will play in his second Pro Bowl this coming weekend. He was drafted by the Ravens in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft after a college career at Rutgers. At the end of the 2011 season he was ranked as the Baltimore Ravens second all-time rusher in yards (4377), and attempts (959). He is ranked third all-time for touchdowns (24).

Earlier this week, Ray Rice surprised Ultimate P&G Super Parent Joanne McShalley at her home before she left for Hawaii with her husband and two kids to take part in the Pro Bowl Community Blitz, presented by P&G.

This season, P&G and NFL PLAY 60 teamed up to amplify the NFL’s successful Super School pillar, which chooses 34 Super Schools to honor in the U.S. (32 in NFL markets and two general markets) each football season. Joanne was honored as a P&G Super Parent along with 34 other parents part of the national NFL PLAY 60 Super School program. All were selected because of their commitment to raising active kids and overall community involvement.

Joanne won the contest and will be heading to the Pro Bowl to help lead the Pro Bowl Community Blitz, presented by P&G. While there, Joanne and her family will also have a VIP experience at the Pro Bowl, including running the game ball out prior to kickoff.  Joanne will join Pro Bowlers including Maurice Jones-Drew and Nick Mangold in building a playground at Ke Kula O Samuel M. Kamakau Public School in Oahu.  To follow Joanne and P&G’s efforts in Hawaii, fans can go to facebook.com/takeittothehouse.
