Pickled herring is the BEST after a drunk night. Why? I´m from germany and every Magazine tells you to eat this after getting shit faced. It adds Sodium and Fat ( good fish fat ) to your system after transporting lots of this to the toilet. Trust me : this really helps you after a “good” night. Just don´t drink the water they come in ( if you do, you should go to alcohol rehab ).

Eating it right now.

Pickled herring: in my family, its almost like a right of passage. A particularly disgusting right of passage. My great-uncle and great-grandfather used to make it every year. And when you turn 10, guess who gets to try it. NEVER…..AGAIN…..

I think the canned ham is a pretty good idea. its now non perishable, probably tastes looks and smells like crap but after a couple minutes over some flame its probably pretty tasty.

Jellied Eel was just featured on an episode of Gordon Ramsey’s The F Word. Apparently it was a big deal in Britain, but the newer generations are avoiding it like…well, jellied eels. I watched them make the dish and it looked alright to me.

I put forth to you that cows feed on plants, and, in fact, cause heavy damage to the grass that they graze. By your reasoning we should call cows a grass pathogen and eschew eating burgers because they cows damage grass. xuitlacoche does, in fact, devour corn and it looks weird, but all it is is a fungus like the agaricus bisporus you get on your mushroom pizza. Ewwwwwwww…. all fungi are bottom feeders. Never mind lobsters. You don’t want to know what they eat. They are big bugs in a sense as well. All your squeamishness is cultural. I could give you a dozen truly disgusting and highly toxic products commonly eaten in the USA and you’d defend them because you are what you eat.
