Andy Richter is NOT Funny
Gone is the whiny, nasally voice of Jay Leno on the Tonight Show (only to have him back at 10 p.m.), and back is the whiny, nasally voice of Andy Richter, one of the most talentless, unfunny people in show business. His first day back with Conan, on Monday’s premier episode with O’Brien, he proved to be as useless as he was before his ill-fated decision to leave Late Night with Conan O’Brien in 2000. From there, he starred in a failed, short-lived sitcom called Andy Richter Controls the Universe, and he got forgettable parts in movies (including Sacha Baron Cohen’s gay lover in Talladega Nights) and television shows. Richter is to O’Brien as Tom Arnold was to Roseanne. Every time I see him I just want to punch my television. Sorry, Conan, but I’ll be watching Letterman.
If you disagree, and find Richter to be funny, watch the video below and if you actually find yourself laughing at Richter, you’re likely retarded. Also, take the poll.

Your poll results indicate quite a ‘retarded’ readership ;) However, I do agree that Richter’s spot on Conan is highly obnoxious. He seems quite pathetic at this point, gobbling up any scrap of attention he can get. What’s his role exactly… to stand at the podium and cackle with overzealous laughter after everything his boss says? Conan, your chemistry with Max is ten times funnier than this sycophant. Don’t ruin your flow because you used to be friends with the guy! At the very least, Richter needs to stop trying so hard… it’s a turn off when you’re putting that much into it and still failing miserably.
On the Richter scale he gets a -5. Come on, this guy is a total dud. He has a fake laugh, he has no acting talent and cannot deliver a joke to save his life. Either Conan is just clueless or he brought the guy on just so he could have the privilege (and joy) of inviting Richter into his office one day (hopefully soon) to say, “Sorry, gonna have to let you go – not working out,” just before the security guards arrive to show him the back door. He does try too hard but it’s all he can do – try.
C’mon, Tom Arnold was great in True Lies.
Andy’s not funny. He can barely get a line out without stuttering. Maybe I’m one of Conan’s overprotective fans, but Andy and his annoying gap teeth need to go! I think Joel McHale would be Conan’s perfect “sidekick” if you will. Two tall, lanky, funny Irish lads every night….heaven! :D
