This document is intended to describe our contributor program. We recognize that good people, and good content are what make any site successful, so for that reason we have created this contributor program in order to continually provide original content to our audience. We appreciate your freelance contribution to the site, and we are very flexible with our team. You are free to write about anything that fits into our six categories (sports, girls, humor, media, gadgets, and grub), and you may contribute as little or as much as you want. We won’t pressure anyone to create content, because honestly you are all helping us out.
We want to make this relationship mutually beneficial, so in order to compensate you for your efforts, we have have a multi-faceted system which includes a flat rate, traffic multiplier, and feature bonus as described below :
- Per Article : $3 per new article
- By Pageviews : $3 CPM (per 1,000 pageviews) on content published since 1/1/11.
- Feature Bonus : New articles featured on Gunaxin.com receive a $3 bonus.
We have a rather complex spreadsheet to calculate all of this, but the end result is that you get compensated fairly for your content (we actually pay you more than we make off of your content) and have the potential to earn big money if your article goes viral.
Each month we use Google Analytics (you’ll have access) to determine how many page views all of your content (including articles published previously) received in the previous month. We then will send you payment via PayPal (to your Gunaxin.com address) for any new content, and the traffic that all of your content (since 1/1/11) achieves.
Most new articles will probably be in the 500 – 5,000 page view range, so $4.50 – $18 per. However that goes up to $7.50 – $21 if that article is featured. We’re currently averaging over $10 paid per new article published. We do cap it at $40 max per new article published, but that’s an average, so one can earn $60 if another article you contributed earns $20.
The best way to earn the most money is to contribute Feature worthy articles (fully developed) that attract attention and links from 3rd parties (that link to us, and send you traffic) several times per month, and to do it consistently over a period of time. That will build up a portfolio of work that can continue to earn money into the future. Sure some pieces won’t earn as much as you’d hope, but others pieces can make up for it.
We continue to pay you for your old content for up to 2 years after you write it, as long as you remain actively writing (must contribute new content during a month in order to receive payment for that month). We aim to compensate our contributors as fairly as possible, and as our advertising revenue increases, so too will our rate for contributions, as they have on multiple previous occasions.
So as you can see, this isn’t a get rich quick scheme, but if you enjoy writing / creating content, being part of a team, and being compensated fairly for it, then this is a good opportunity for you. We average close to 2 Million pageviews per month, so we have the ability to get your content noticed.
