Why does it be that they have to make her a true african princess? I would like to see them make a movie with a true African Princess, it would be interesting to see what storyline they make, but for princess and the frog she is not supposed to be a true African Princess.

As a black woman I must say that I am very disappointed with and deeply offended by Disney’s new “black” princess. The quotation marks because she does not look “black.” Since when are slightly cocoa women with ideal caucasian features “black?” Racist Disney does not want to acknowledge the true ethnic appearance of a black woman. Where are her big, thick lips and wooly hair? Why is she dressed all up like some kind of rich white girl? How come her true ethnic background is not acknowledged? Where is her leopard-print mini-dress and gaudy jewelry? Hell, why isn’t she a true, lovely African princess wearing a grass skirt, garish facepaint and a big plate in her lip? How come she does not live in a mud hut and eat bugs? And her man!!?? Where is his black skin? What is Disney trying to tell my young daughters? That a black man isn’t who she should be with? Why is he WHITE!? I WILL NOT allow my daughters to see this film.

Who cares. You should have been happy your race was not exploited by Disney. Your race is now part of the Disney money making machine. I thought they already had a gangsta' Mickey who went around rapping and dancing. Personally, I think that nonsense is stupid. Mickey/Disney have no mind of their own so they steal from others.

I am so excited about this- it is very important for kids to have toys and cartoon characters that look like them.
I have always loved the Disney princesses, but when I was little, I couldn't be like my friends and say "I'm Cinderella or I'm Princess Jasmine". Children should see all different kinds of people depicted as beautiful so they don't think they're ugly.

Besides the movie sounds like it's going to be really cute.

okay??? whats with the black princess thing, first of all, i dont see much a difference if a princess is black, white, green whatever... what matters here if this film is going to be good,if it sucks then disney last its moment. so whos big moment is it?? for black people, no. its oprah winfreys big momment, famous women, means more money in her bank account. besides there are a lot of cartoons out there that have black people as their main charactors!! and there are really good and the charactors look great!! so please, dont bring this topic up, theres no such thing as racist people in the now disney cartoon land. it just takes someone creative to come out with a great story that people will love!! and i bet a lot of normal white people are behind this film!! so stop please!!! out with those bad thoughts people, we need to grow up and change, if we dont change, then who will !!!
