Heyward-Bey Is Tha Man
Maybe I’m biased because I went to University of Maryland and once had a friendly dinner with the guy’s mother, but I’d still like to give a shout-out to Darrius Heyward-Bey, a wide receiver who was drafted seventh overall by the Oakland Raiders. We’ll miss you in College Park, Darrius, and best of luck in the NFL (even if it is in Oakland!).

Obviously Ben is a big Maryland homer, and is blinded to the fact that this was a huge reach by Oakland. Heyward-Bey is fast, but that might be about it. Michael Crabtree was obviously the better choice, but I guess time will tell. There have been other “no-brainer” choices that have failed, so who knows, maybe Al Davis will finally pick a winner.
I think the fact he was picked by Oakland automatically ruins his career. :)
Ummmmmm….how many highlights are vs. Delaware? they are I-AA. This guy is a B-U-S-T and a bad pick.
He was drafted for his speed. Al Davis is desperately in love with the deep ball and wants a burner to go get it when JaMarcus Russell launches it from that cannon of his. Not saying it was a smart pick, as I have a feeling it’s gonna take Al Davis’ death before the Raiders can actually turn anything around, but it’s not a bad pick either.
