I used to really like Joaquin Phoenix. He was awesome in Gladiator and Walk the Line. Now he quits acting to focus on his music career? Not just music, but Hip Hop? Are you kidding me? Then, he appears on Letterman and makes a complete fool of himself. Watch:

I haven’t really been paying attention to this story, but I think he was going for an Andy Kaufman like moment. Given the circumstances surrounding the death of his brother, I’m not sure how funny this really was, but I guess that was part of the point. Letterman really stole the show, in my opinion. BTW, I think he wants to be a Hip Hop star, not R&B.
Joaquin likes to take roles as the odd man out, but that works for him as an actor so this interview with Letterman might complement his career
