In retrospect, I missed the mark a little bit by focusing on Social Media vs. Traditional Media, and should have highlighted the Celebrity Gossip angle of this more. In the end, the same concept applies. CNN and others try to dabble in celebrity gossip, but then try to hold themselves above when something like this happens. In the end, getting it right, or crediting those that do is what is what matters, regardless of who they are. And when you get it wrong, I think you should acknowledge it too.
