Hi there, does anyone know if Team Canada will meet up with Sweden in the Qualifiers, or Quarter-finals? If so, what date/game? Thanks.

They need to work on getting Ronnie Sundin in the line up on defence.. he is the most solid defenceman in the swedish elite leagues and he was apart of the last gold medal winning team.. and tellqvist? no way you need gustavsson and markstrom as lundqvists back up tendys

I think you're spot on. However I think Nylander might be included in this one.

good forwards, but they will really need to score A LOT of goals w/ that D core to do as well as they did last olympics, so i think, 4th or 5th place

Kronwall only made the last Olympic team as an injury replacement, so it's not like he's Lidstrom level. He should easily slide into Sweden's Top 6, but he's not THAT good.

I agree that Sundin and Lidstrom may pass on the Olympics, but the idea was to take the best players available. Until they do pass, they'd be on my team.

I could see Larsson getting selected, although I wouldn't consider him a Top 3 Swedish goalie. Of course the selections from Sweden all trend older, so a number of young guys could get bumped.

Sundin and Lidstrom have basically said that they intend not to compete in the next Olympics. Kronvall is a lock unless he is injuried. He was on the last team. I could see Johan Ericsson on the blue line along with Niklas Grossman. In goal the choice for the third goalie might be Daniel Larsson.
