Nothing beats a spur of the moment camping trip with your buddies on a hot summer day. You can set up a Bar B Que, drink lots of beer, and if it gets too hot, you can always kayak down a slow river. The only problem with kayaking is that it requires you to paddle down the creek and since you paddle with your arms, that severely diminishes your  beer drinking ability.

This Mokai Jet-Propelled Kayak will solve all your paddling problems since it comes equipped with a 4 stroke, 6hp Honda powerplant coupled to a jet propulsion system that takes about a minute to install on your kayak. It tops out at 15 mph, can hold 360 lbs, and costs around $3450.

  1. Everyone worldwide, who has ever read about, seen, used, built, sold, or purchased any products that claim to be the first water jet propelled kayak, should be informed that I filed the patent for the concept of a water jet propelled kayak in 1994 and my patent was issued in 1996. I want to set he record straight that I built the first water jet propelled kayaks of many shapes and sizes and tested them in the water as early as 1996. If one wants to see proof of this just search for WATER JET PROPELLED KAYAK in any patent search out there. I have, unlike many individuals or companies that have blatantly infringed on my patent for years, continued to build and develop through continuing R&D for 14 years to properly provide the world with a totally safe and multipurpose water jet propelled kayak. The USA Federal government’s judicial system did not stand behind my patent during my single attempt to litigate against the first major alleged infringing company. The government granted that company a summary judgment and ruled that their product did not qualify as a kayak because the company removed all evidence of them marketing their product as a water jet propelled kayak immediately after I began litigation. The judicial system and the alleged infringing company’s attorney simply manipulated many facts to become covered up in a very dishonest court proceeding. One such fact is that very same company asked me for a patent license in 1997 which I refused to give them. Another fact is that they called it a motorized kayak and marketed it as one on their internet site at first. They endorsed many internet blogs for years that promoted their product as a water jet propelled kayak. That company still endorses many blogs by allowing those blogs to represent their product as a kayak. I have not been willing to license my patents because I have yet approved one of these many company designs as meeting my strict safety requirements. So it is interesting to me when I look at some of the various companies and individuals out there in the world and wonder if they really are trying to create the best product for people or just pass off cheap unsafe versions regardless of whether they are safe or not for the general public. I am an expert in this field and simply feel alarmed that the public is being taken by what the various companies are trying to claim as their unique idea and that they are the genuine article and they are building the ideal and most safe version that really could be introduced to the public. The companies to date that produce anything similar to a water jet propelled kayak, whether they call their product a kayak or not, are selling a product that does not meet my original concept with requirements with regards to performance or safety. It has take me years to test dozens of designs in all water conditions and I have not yet been willing to go to the market. But when my product is completed it will be found at the website domain names as follows. http://www.jetkayak.com, http://www.waterjetpropelledkayak.com, http://www.waterjetpropelledcanoe.com These three domains will be on the internet as individual websites describing the complete work and research of the original inventor and will offer for sale a superior product designed and produced as a safe, reliable, multifunctional, true go anywhere do anything Jetkayak. At least Shaun Baker built his version just for himself as a self proclaimed dare devil and doesn’t risk anyone’s life but his own. I respect that and would like to meet him someday. I don’t know if he does realize that he did not invent or build the first water jet propelled kayak. But I give him credit for building a quite functional dare devil version that is of course not fit for the general public’s use or safety. Believe me there are a lot of things wrong with the lack of safety features that are absent in the complete concept and engineering of all the products like a water jet propelled kayak that are on the market now that incorporate very faulty designs. So if you want to take your chances with your life by purchasing and using any of the currently available products, be sure you are aware that somewhere and sometime those products will fail to protect you due to faulty design in their construction and engineering. Yes they are inexpensive knock offs of what I consider to be a wonderful concept when it would be done correctly for the public’s safety. Also I might point out an ethical point. If a company is willing to do whatever they can and get away with it by using their money and power to infringe on an inventor’s intellectual property rights and to escape from paying royalties, then what prevents them from simply ignoring the rights of individuals or their loved ones to be protected with a product built with the best possible safety design features incorporated in their product? I can guarantee anyone reading this that I could take these various products produced by all the companies I am speaking about to the United States Coast Guard and show them the many safety violations these various products have regardless who manufactures them. Another thing I will point out is that the performance of all these various products out there do not live up to their warranty claims and have major tendencies to fail in many of their structural, engineering, and design features. If you don’t believe me do your homework like I have and call various ex-distributors and dealers who have become disgusted with these products’ quality and warranty issues after initially trying them out in their stores as new inventory throughout the world. The companies market with a false representation in a limited public forum with a limited amount of testimonials from the public. I am very sure from my research, that they do not make public the many hundreds of dissatisfied customers that have purchased these kinds of products from various manufactures. One would find out that many customers have been seriously hurt or almost hurt by these products or have suffered serious consequences both economic and personal in the use of these inferior designs out there now. One of these companies uses a 6 horsepower lawnmower engine in a plastic hull and is the same company that I litigated against for alleged infringement. One company uses a 9.8 horsepower motor bike engine that refused to acknowledge my patent and refused to sign any license agreement with me. Another company is currently using the same two stroke engine that Shaun Baker used in his dare devil kayak he built and used in his stunts and this company has never contacted me to offer any license agreement either. This last company mentioned was only building powered surfboards, but now has branched out to build water jet propelled kayaks. None of these companies can get their vessels to qualify as safe and reliable products by my standards or by many government standards. They have simply used loopholes or avoided true inspection or compliance because of good attorneys and an apparently uninterested government that simply does have or doesn’t want to spend the proper resources to enforce all the laws that apply to the blatant disregard of these companies regarding the lack of safety of their products.
