6Q: Fred Lynn

Six Questions with:

Fred Lynn – Former Major League Baseball Star

On the Gunaxin Sports Show we recently sat down with former MLB star Fred Lynn. He started his career as if it was a dream. He was playing for the Red Sox who went to play in the World Series that year and he won Rookie of the Year and the leagues MVP award. THIS WAS HIS FIRST YEAR! That was in 1974 and the next person to accomplish that feat was Ichiro Suzuki in 2001. He also played for the Angels, Orioles, Tigers, and Padres during his career. In 1983 he won the MVP award for the All-Star Game and is the only person to hit a Grand Slam in an All-Star Game. For those who follow the game you know who Fred Lynn is, for those who don’t know who he is make sure you learn more about him. One way to do that is to listen to our interview with Fred on the Gunaxin Sport Show.

Fred was in Arizona for the All-Star festivities this past week and played in the Celebrity All-Star Softball game. He is also teaming up with Subway Restaurants to promote the Subway Baseball DeSigns tour. This is a traveling national tour of baseballs designed by kids and autographed by celebrities and athletes. The final stop of the tour will be in Williamsport, Pennsylvania at the Little League Baseball World Series. Make sure you check out the site at Subwaykids.com to check out the baseballs and to bid on your favorite. All proceeds go to the Little League Baseball Urban Initiative.
