Gunaxin Sports Show #09 – Hot Dog Eating Contest, Feherty, and the Tour de France

We’ve entered the slow part of the sports calendar, so we’ve decided to embrace it by taking a look at some of the events to enjoy in July. First we discuss the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest, where Joey Chestnut is the heavy favorite, and Takeru Kobayashi will be competing virtually. It has become a 4th of July tradition for many of us to watch this on ESPN, but its still more spectacle than sport.

We then take a brief look at David Feherty’s new show on the Golf Channel, simply called Feherty. Phil was recently invited to a live stage version of the show, which featured Rickie Fowler and Fred Funk.

Lastly we move on to the Tour de France, the epic three week cycling race which will hit the mountains hard this year. Zach and Phil are both fans, so we discuss their reasons for watching this event, which can really help to fill your slow summer. Of course we also tackle the doping issue which has plagued the sport recently.
