Señor Vader : Yo Soy Tu Padre
Recently I told you about my plans for creating a unique Halloween costume from the catalog at BuyCostumes.com. With our favorite holiday swiftly approaching, my costume parts have arrived, and I was able to tryout the costume at an event this past weekend. Beforehand though we shot some photos, so you can see how it all came together.
Overall I was pleased with the quality of the Darth Vader Mask and Sombrero, but unfortunately the Sombrero proved very difficult to keep positioned properly on top of Señor Vader’s helmet, so it’s hanging off the back. I also find any mask difficult to wear for long as they become hot, so I think next year I’ll come up with something that doesn’t involve covering my face. Like any guy, I wish I had a real light saber instead of this toy prop, but it got the job done and completed the look I was going for:
It’s been several years since I’ve dressed up for Halloween, and thanks to this partnership with BuyCostumes.com, I’ve rediscovered that life is indeed better in Costume. With only a few days left until Halloween, I would encourage you to use your imagination in creating your costume, but definitely avoid these horrible and offensive examples. Combining multiple costume ideas together (as I’ve done above) is a good way to ensure that you are one of a kind at your local costume party. The only thing worse than wearing the exact same costume as someone else, is realizing that they are wearing it better. So get creative and you’ll be sure to stand out, like this awesome group cosplay we captured at Baltimore Comic-Con :
